What be Messages?

Ahoy, matey! Communicatin' with yer band when playin' live can be a tricky voyage. Hand signals an' vocal cues can be used, but what if ye could use colors an' text t' inform yer crew where th' music be headed next? Savvy?

Setup

Ye can create an' manage personalized messages usin' th' Messages Menu. Ye can also trigger messages from this menu, although when playin' live, it be more useful t' trigger these from a Hot Corner or from Foot Pedals.

Viewin' Messages

Messages can be viewed on yer device's screen, devices connected with OnSong Connect, or with any external video screens runnin' as Stage Monitors. Messages will appear fer about one-third o' a second per word. This ensures that th' reader has enough time t' read longer messages. Ye can configure messages t' appear longer in Settings » Display Settings » Song Viewer » Flash Message.

Sendin' Messages

Arrr! Ye can send messages by triggerin' a Send Message action in th' Action Menu inside o' OnSong. Ye can set actions fer Hot Corners or Navigation Zones in Editors » Navigation » Screen Tab.

Ye can also set actions fer foot pedals in th' Foot Pedals Setup screen. From here, ye can setup yer pedal t' trigger th' Send Message action in th' Action Menu.
