Visual Settin's

In some settin's an audio metronome be not suitable, matey. In this case, a visual metronome can be used t' start a song in th' right tempo. Arrr! Th' visual settin's section in metronome settin's provides th' followin' options t' customize how th' metronome appears.

Behavior

Th' behaviors section changes how th' visual metronome appears, savvy? Ye can change th' followin' options:

This lets ye enable or disable th' visual metronome completely while retainin' other settin's.

Animate Fade

This will fade out th' blink color over th' duration o' th' beat when enabled. Default be Off.

This determines how fast th' blink color returns t' th' normal color. Th' default be Normal which keeps th' color on fer half a beat (1/8 note). Choosin' faster speeds will halve th' precedin' duration. Fast results in a 1/16 note and Faster as a 1/32 note. Th' slow option be th' full beat.

Colors

This be th' color that be flashed when different beats be encountered. Tappin' on a row will display th' Color Builder allowin' ye t' customize th' color palette or pick from one o' these preset colors: Black (no flash), Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Grey, or Teal (default).

Down Beat Color

This be th' color o' th' down beat or th' first beat o' th' measure.

Up Beat Color

This be th' other beats o' th' rhythm.

Th' visual metronome blinks th' menubar o' OnSong, arrr!

Opacity

Ye can adjust th' opacity o' this blinkin' t' make it less intense, matey. Options include Off t' 100% in 10% increments. Default be 100%.

Primary Display

In addition t' blinkin' th' menubar, OnSong can also flash th' border o' th' primary display. This be useful if ye be playin' without a menubar or need additional visual reinforcement, savvy?

Opacity

Ye can change th' opacity from Off t' 100% in increments o' 10%. By default, th' opacity be set t' 100%.

Thickness

Ye can also adjust th' thickness o' this flashin' border. Thickness can be adjusted t':

  • None turns off th' border flashin' o' th' metronome. Default.
  • Hairline produces a very subtle border o' one pixel.
  • Thin produces a border o' 2 pixels.
  • Medium produces a border o' 4 pixels.
  • Thick produces a border o' 8 pixels.
  • Thicker produces a border o' 12 pixels.
  • Thickest produces a border o' 24 pixels.

External Displays

When usin' stage monitor mode yer musicians may also want t' have a metronome. This section allows ye t' adjust how this appears, matey.

Full Screen

This lets ye determine if th' metronome flashes full screen on th' external display. Th' default option be Off and can get set between 10-50% opacity.

Opacity

This determine th' opacity o' th' border that surrounds th' external display. Ye can change th' opacity from Off t' 100% in increments o' 10%. By default, th' opacity be set t' 80%.

Thickness

This lets ye adjust th' thickness o' this flashin' border. Thickness can be adjusted t' th' followin' relative t' 720p standard resolution. This can be set t' None, Hairline (1 point), Thin (2 points), Medium (4 points), Thick (8 points), Thicker (12 points), and Thickest (24 points).
