Formattin'

This section contains settin's fer formattin' th' chord, savvy?

Chord Position

Determines where th' chord be placed in relation t' lyrics. Options include:

  • Above places th' chord above th' lyrics on a separate line.
  • Inline places th' chord within th' lyrics, takin' up less space on th' page but potentially breakin' words.

Chord Style

This allows ye t' choose th' default chord style fer newly imported songs. Ye can choose from:

  • Alpha displays chords as an alphabetic character (A-G) includin' enharmonic preference (sharp or flat). Default.
  • Nashville displays chords as numbers (1-7) based on their position in th' key.
  • Roman displays chords as Roman numerals (I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, vii) based on their position in th' key.
  • Solfege displays chords as numbers usin' Latin (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti) based on their position in th' key. This normally stays constant and does not change when ye transpose keys unless ye change th' Solfege Type settin'.

Split Chord

Ye can denote chords with split bass usin' a slash. Fer instance, ye can play an A chord over a D bass with A/D. This settin' lets ye determine what be outputted such as:

  • Both outputs th' chord "as-is" with th' chord and bass component separated by a slash. Default.
  • Bass Only outputs only th' bass portion o' th' chord.
  • Chord Only outputs only th' main chord portion o' th' chord.

Decoration

This settin' will surround th' chord with brackets t' help differentiate it from surroundin' lyrics. This be helpful if ye be displayin' chords inline. Options include None (default), Square Brackets, Parentheses, Angled Brackets, or Curly Braces.
