Metronome Settin's

Th' metronome in OnSong be capable o' allowin' ye t' hear and see th' beat, savvy? This screen be showin' common settin's fer th' metronome as well as th' ability t' adjust other aspects.

Metronome

Here ye can adjust th' individual aspects o' th' audio, haptic, and visual metronome, matey.

Audio Settin's

Configure th' metronome sound t' suit yer tastes as well as other basic parameters in th' audio section, Arrr!

Haptic Settin's

When usin' a handheld device, ye can set haptic feedback fer each metronome click. (iPhone only)

Visual Settin's

Configure th' way th' metronome blinks on th' screen when an audio metronome be not appropriate, savvy?

Behavior

This section be controllin' how th' metronome behaves, ye scallywag.

Count In

This option allows th' metronome t' flash th' countdown on th' screen before startin' th' metronome. Default be Off and ye can choose count in between 1-8 measures.

Stop Metronome

Both th' audio and visual metronome can be stopped automatically after a certain number o' measures, or when navigatin' t' another song. Choose from th' options below, Ahoy!

  • Never be th' default option which allows th' metronome t' keep playin' indefinitely, changin' th' tempo, time signature, and subdivisions when navigatin' t' other songs.
  • After 1-8 measures stops th' metronome after a set number o' measures have played through.
  • When song changes turns off th' metronome when navigatin' t' another song.

Use Temporary Tempo Changes

Ye can make changes t' th' tempo usin' actions that will affect both th' metronome and MIDI clock, matey. By default, these changes be saved t' th' song. Ye can make those changes temporary by enablein' this settin' so that changes t' th' tempo do not effect th' underlying song, savvy?

BPM Settin's

These settin's be used t' apply constraints t' th' metronome and tempo settin's in th' app, Arrr!

Default BPM

This be used fer calculations requirin' a tempo when none be set. Default value be 96 BPM.

Minimum BPM

This be th' lowest acceptable tempo that can be entered in th' system. Default be set t' 40 BPM.

Maximum BPM

This be th' highest acceptable tempo that can be entered in th' system. Default be 200 BPM.

Quantize BPM

This allows ye t' set th' BPM at different beats, savvy? Th' default be whole beats which results in settin' whole numbers fer BPM. Options include:

  • Whole Beat t' set th' tempo t' a whole number like 120. Default.
  • Half Beat allows ye t' use between two whole numbers like 120.5.
  • Quarter Beat allows ye t' set down t' a quarter like 120.25 or 120.75.

Rhythm

This section lets ye determine how th' rhythm be played, matey.

Primary Beat

This be th' down beat o' th' rhythm. Ye can choose t' play th' stressed (default), non-stressed, or no sound.

Secondary Beat

This be typically th' third beat in a four beat measure. Ye can choose t' play stressed, non-stressed (default), or no sound.

Other Beats

This constitute th' second and fourth beats in a four-beat measure. Ye can choose t' play stressed, non-stressed (default), or no sound.

Play Compound Beats

This will play 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8 time signatures usin' three eighth notes per dotted quarter note, Blimey! Turnin' this option off will effectively treat these time signatures as simple beats.

Swing

This option adjusts th' position o' th' offset swing beat when a swing subdivision be selected, savvy?
