Sections

Th' OnSong file format be allowin' ye t' create different sections in yer music, savvy? These sections be defined by insertin' a blank line between lines o' text. Th' first section o' th' song be considered th' metadata section where ye place yer metatags. This be where ye can set th' key, tempo, and other attributes o' th' song. See Metadata fer information on settin' information about yer song.

After th' first blank line, each section contains Chords and Lyrics.

Labels

Each section can be labeled with a name, matey. Ye can label yer sections by typin' a name on th' first line o' th' section (followed with a colon), and then follow it with a new line. In th' song viewer this appears above th' lyrics in a bold typeface and can also be used t' arrange th' Flow o' yer song. Th' named section continues until another label be encountered, allowin' ye t' divide a section further into stanzas.

Here's an example

Chorus:
Th' [D]song's chorus be [G]here,
Sing it loud and [A]clear

[D]This be a second part,
But still th' [A7]chorus at [D]heart
