Crank It Up (Or Down, We Don't Judge)

Uh... Playback Stuff (aka "Why Won't My Junk Work Together?!?")

Playback settings are basically your way of telling OnSong which stuff should actually listen to you when you mash that Play button in the live bar. Tap an item to toggle it on & off. Checked = controlled by playback (shocking, we know). Unchecked = does its own freakin' thing & ignores your pleas.

Autoscroll

When you hit Play, autoscroll wakes up & the chart starts bouncin' along with your backing track like they're actually friends. Turn it off & the chart just sits there, dead inside, while the track plays. Romantic? Nah.

Backing Track

Playback plays, pauses & stops your song's backing track. Yeah, this one's on by default because, duh, you probably want to hear something.

Metronome

Playback starts & stops the click. Finally, a way to make your tempo problems everyone else's problem too.

MIDI Clock

Playback wakes up your connected gear & tells it "hey, follow the tempo, buddy." Cuz apparently your hardware needs a babysitter.

MIDI Events

Playback fires off all those MIDI events you saved with the song. You're welcome, I guess?

MIDI Sync

Playback sends MIDI Start, Stop & Continue messages so your gear knows when to get its act together & when to chill. You & your toys: synchronized at last.

Pro tip: Check Autoscroll & Metronome along with Backing Track & boom — one tap, three things happen. It's basically magic. Or sloppy engineering. Same difference, amirite?
