Lemme Out

The "Get This Outta Here" screen lets you export whatever song or set you're vibin' with in like a bajillion different file formats. Besides lettin' you pick where to stash it & what format to use, this screen also lets you get all fancy with output options. When you're finally done tweakin' everything, smack that Export button in the upper right corner to actually export & maybe upload your stuff. Hit Cancel in the upper left if you're chickened' out & wanna bail.

OnSong automatically grabs whichever song or set you're currently starin' at for export but hey, you can totally change that in the Scope Hamburger.

Pick Where This Thing Goes

Your chosen export spot shows up here with a button to be all indecisive & pick a different one. Browse around folders in your storage spot to choose for export. Options include: OnSong® Drive, Dropbox, File Sharing, Files, Google Drive, etc. When you pick Dropbox or Google Drive in the Location Picker, the Export Location list pops open with your last sad attempt already checked, so you can be lazy & use it again or quickly jump to another folder you've stashed stuff.

Output Shenanigans

This shows the file or files that're about to get yeet'd into existence plus whatever options you picked. You can change how the files get exported here if you're feelin' adventurous.

Song Sheets

This is where you pick what format to export in. We're talkin' the basic stuff you'd actually want to export:

  • Adobe PDF is literally the only way to share stuff so people can actually print it & not mess it up.
  • OnSong® Archive is the way to flex with other OnSong® App nerds. It's got the whole song, all your doodles, styles & settings exactly like you see 'em so they can customize it too.
  • OnSong® Text is just what you see in the song editor inside the app. If you throw it into another app, it'll lose all your cool annotations & style swag.
  • ChordPro shares your chords with other programs that actually speak ChordPro.
  • Text File is like OnSong® Text but with the fancy *.txt extension & it's all about chords over lyrics cuz basic.

Song List

Check Song List to export a boring list of songs from your sharing scope instead of like the actual songs. It saves as Adobe PDF unless you're feelin' wild & pick somethin' else under List Settings in Output Options, where you can also pick columns, paper size & which way the paper goes.

The Deep Cuts

These options are hidin' by default cuz they're kinda messy & nobody needs 'em. But if you're ready to unlock chaos, flip on the Show all available file formats switch at the bottom & you'll see these extra formats:

  • OnSong® Binder is for sharin' with the newer OnSong versions that don't hate you.
  • OpenSong is some open-source software format that like five people use.
  • HTML File lets you look at songs in a web browser like it's 1997.
  • OnSong® Backup is a squeezed-down file that's got literally everything in your library. Throw it on another device & boom, your whole library's back baby.
