Congrats, the status bar plays peek-a-boo & vanishes when the menubar ghosts. Wanna kill that feature 'cause you're weird like that? Tap Lick the Extras » Tweak the Nerdy Stuff » Pointy Clicky Things » Your Eyeballs' Territory tab. Then jam that menubar & toggle the "Poof! Status Bar Disappears" option on or off like a boss.
