The Clicky-Clicky Doodads
Once you've crammed Console into a web browser, buckle up buttercup — you're ready to make some magic happen (or at least pretend to). Console lets you import or create songs & edit the songs you're already hoarding in your OnSong library on the device. Totes accomplished by picking a song, making changes in the editor, gawking at the real-time preview screen, & then saving like your life depends on it. Let's peep at the different zones of Console's interface so you don't completely mess this up.
Header Zone
The tippy-top is the header which contains the OnSong logo (fancy, we know). To the left of the logo is the name of your current song. If you've already bloopin' up the song, a save button magically appears to the right of the title so you can save your masterpiece back to your OnSong library on the device. Finally, the help link is chilling on the far right & hooks you up with access to this website (you're welcome).
Floating Windows Everywhere
Palettes are floating windows that can be yeeted around the user interface like you actually know what you're doing. These palettes can be opened & closed using the menubar of the following panes (deep breaths, you got this).
Your Song Jukebox
The song list is flexing on the left & contains literally every song in your library. To view & edit a song, just tap it from the list like a normal person. This area also has a search bar so you can hunt for songs in your chaotic library, plus an add button to cook up new songs or import existing bangers from your computer. Tapping on the + button opens the "Add Songs" magic box.
The Main Damage
The song editor is chilling in the center of the screen & gives you a text editor so you can actually change your song without rage-quitting. The toolbar buttons let you access tools for wrangling your content like metadata, insert & text tools palettes, & toolbars to convert text & nuke the entire song if needed.
Live & Unfiltered Preview
The song preview pane shows off the chord chart on the right side & updates itself as you make changes in the song editor (wild, right?). The toolbar buttons let you flip certain features on & off like Low Light mode, Pages mode, & follow mode because apparently you need options. The toolbar also gives you access to extra palettes including style palette (to make your song look less terrible) & chords palette (to transpose & capo your way to stardom). Finally, you can flip between the text & imported files with the view-as menu, or export & print using the export menu & print button because sharing is caring.
