AirPlay

AirPlay is built into Apple devices across every operating system. This typically lets you mirror your screen, or specific content onto an AppleTV or other compatible AirPlay video receiver. In OnSong, you can choose to have the screen filled with lyrics projection or be used as a stage monitor to show chord charts to the band.

Setup the AppleTV

If you're using an AppleTV, you only need to have it turned on as AirPlay can stream video point-to-point without being connected to the WiFi network. If it is connected to a WiFi network, make sure that your OnSong device is also on the same network.

Connecting an iPad or iPhone to AirPlay

If you're on an iPad or iPhone, swipe down from the upper right corner of your screen to reveal the control center. Locate the screen mirroring button that looks like a layered rectangle to show the Screen Mirroring dialog. This will show you all the video AirPlay receivers including your AppleTV. Tap to connect.

Connecting a Mac to AirPlay

If you're on a Mac, tap on the switch icon in the upper right corner of the menubar to show the control center. Locate the screen mirroring button and click to show a similar-looking interface for selecting your AppleTV or AirPlay receiving. Tap to connect. On a Mac, you'll need to choose the display mode to use. We recommend extending the extended display or specify the lyrics projection or stage monitor window.

Disconnecting from AirPlay

To disconnect for AirPlay on an iPad or iPhone, swipe down from the upper right corner to reveal the Control Center. Tap on the screen mirroring button again and choose Stop Mirroring. On a Mac, tap on the switches icon in the upper right corner of the menubar to show the control center and click on the Stop button.

Secure Your AppleTV

If you are using an AppleTV in a public place, please note that you could and should consider setting a passcode for AirPlay on the device or use other measures on the AppleTV to prevent others from accessing your screen.
