Licensing
OnSong Connect provides access to not only user data, but also OnSong intellectual property for the purposes of integration. Because of this, we require a license in order to authenticate against services. This ensures that we can remain compliant with our legal agreements with publishers as well as foster a healthy development environment. User Data
The OnSong® app and related services provides storage for user data including songs, sets, and configurations. This data is strictly confidential and must maintain that any use of chords, lyrics, and other intellectual property be for display purposes only. You may not copy content from the service to another service with an intent to circumvent end-user licensing, or to interfere with the relationship of OnSong LLC with its users.
Limited Scope
Access to the OnSong Connect API is acquired by use of an API key. The API key is used to authenticate the user to the service. This constitutes the a relationship between the third-party developer, the user, and OnSong LLC. Each API key is generated and grants a limited scope of access to user data. For instance, scope may be granted to the types of data available via the API as well as the number of allowed requests to the service. Additional scopes may require additional agreements and licensing and may require monetary compensation for more advanced requirements.
Confidential Information
The OnSong Connect API is considered copyrighted and may not be duplicated or disclosed to those who are not licensed for use. Data structures and concepts are covered by intellectual property law. In addition, documentation and technical assistance may be provided to partners who develop software with OnSong. These are consider confidential information and may not be shared with third-parties without expressed written consent by OnSong LLC.
Non-Compete
The OnSong Connect API and other integrations are designed to enhance OnSong as a platform for helping musicians. Our products and services are provided in good-faith to allow others to build new and exciting solutions with our shared users. However, use of our products and services in a manner that causes OnSong customers to move to competitive products is against those good-faith principals of mutual development and teamwork and are grounds for termination.
Limited Liability
OnSong products and services as exposed in the OnSong Connect API and other integrations are available on an "as-is" basis and are without warranty. There is no guarantee that these services will remain available in continued form and may change at any time. OnSong LLC will make a reasonable attempt to maintain backward compatibility and communicate changes to registered developers. It is the duty of each licensee to communicate any known issues to OnSong LLC to ensure ample time to address issues.
Development Cycle
Registered developers have a duty to join the OnSong Beta program and test their software with upcoming releases. This is to ensure quality integrations for our mutual customers. If any issues are found, please report issues to beta@onsongapp.com as soon as possible.
Trademarks and Likeness
OnSong® is a registered trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Use of this term and other OnSong LLC registered and unregistered trademarks may be granted to licensees permitted they fall under permitted use. Use of the OnSong® trademark and other related terms requires products to maintain a level of quality befitting of and beneficial to the OnSong brand.
Right to Review
OnSong LLC reserves the right to review solutions and any source code to ensure the fitness of the integrated software and proper use of OnSong intellectual property provided by the licensor. OnSong will, at the request of the developer, promote integrated products upon successful review. Developer agrees to make any necessary changes to an integration to maintain compliance with these agreements and to be considered for promotion by OnSong. OnSong makes no guarantee on the success or scope of such promotion.
Any attempts to circumvent protected code or encryption are grounds for termination of the developer license.
