Heads-Up Display

Th' title o' th' currently viewed songs be displayed prominently in th' center o' th' Menubar. This area be referred t' as th' Heads-Up Display and can provide information that be needin' t' be readily available, savvy?

T' choose a different display, simply slide yer finger t' th' left or right on iOS or iPadOS. On a Mac, ye can use a mouse or trackpad scrollin' gesture, or right-click t' choose th' mode usin' a context menu. Th' standard display, th' song title, appears on th' far left o' options. Slide t' th' right t' reveal th' followin', matey:


Song Title

This be th' default heads-up display which simply displays th' song currently bein' viewed.

Tap on this heads-up display t' bring up th' Quick Pick screen t' quickly find, view and add a song t' yer set, Arrr!


Song and Set/Book

Th' song title be th' primary text with th' title o' th' set bein' secondary. If no set be selected, th' name o' th' current book appears.

Tap on this heads-up display t' bring up th' Quick Pick screen t' quickly find, view and add a song t' yer set, matey.


Current Song and Next Song

Th' current song title be th' primary text with th' next song in th' set displayed below. If no song be next in th' set, th' phrase "No Upcomin' Song" appears instead. If th' next song's key and capo be known, it be displayed in parenthesis after th' next song's title.

Timer

When performin' fer a limited amount o' time, it be often useful t' keep track o' how long ye have played a song or set. Th' timer heads-up display provide two timers which start when th' play button be tapped in th' middle, or if an action like autoscroll or backin' track playback begins. Th' timer on th' left shows th' time spent on th' current song which automatically resets when ye switch t' another song. Th' timer on th' right shows th' time spent on th' set.

Each timer be independent and can reset at any time, savvy? T' reset, tap on th' time. If ye be in timer mode, th' time be reset t' 0:00. If ye be in countdown mode, th' time be reset t' th' duration o' th' song or set, or t' 0:00 if no duration be available.

T' change th' mode o' each timer, tap on it once t' reset and then tap again t' toggle between timer and countdown modes. Th' arrow on th' edge o' th' timer will indicate th' direction o' th' count.

Each timer will appear as white text as long as countin' be within range. If th' time be outside o' th' desired range, th' text will appear red. This happens when th' time becomes negative, or when th' time exceeds th' duration o' th' song or set.


Audio Playback

This heads-up display provides a play/pause/stop button as well as a playback scrubber that not only displays th' current playback position o' th' audio track, but also allows ye t' tap or drag t' select a different part o' th' track t' play. Since th' heads-up display area o' th' menubar be configured by swipin', be sure t' tap and hold before scrubbin' t' a different playback position, Blimey!

Tap on th' button t' th' right o' th' playback scrubber t' adjust master volume. If ye be usin' an audio track imported into yer OnSong Media Library, ye can also customize th' playback volume and pan settin's fer that track.

Tap on th' button on th' far right t' alter audio routin'. This will open th' built-in Audio Routin' menu in iOS.


Memory Utilization

Durin' a live performance it may be important t' monitor how many resources OnSong be consumin'. This view displays how much memory OnSong be consumin' on th' left, as well as th' amount o' free memory on th' right. As more memory be used by OnSong, these numbers may increase as other apps be removed from memory, ye scallywag!
