Gestures

Gestures be multitouch actions ye perform on a touch-based interface like iOS/iPadOS. Because OnSong works on macOS too, those gestures translate naturally into mouse/trackpad-based interactions. Fer instance, a tap becomes a click, double-tap becomes double-click, savvy? Let's set sail and look at th' common gestures used fer placin' and interactin' with annotations.

T' Select

Tap or click on th' annotation t' select and bring it t' th' front o' other annotations. This will ensure ye can move th' annotation with one finger on iOS/iPadOS and also allow inline editin' on text-based annotations when ye tap or click a selected annotation.

T' Manipulate

Ye'll want t' place th' annotation where it fits and works best, matey. Ye can tap and drag (iOS/iPadOS) or click and drag (macOS) t' move annotations and place on th' sheet or screen. Use two fingers on th' screen (iOS/iPadOS) or on a trackpad (macOS) t' move, rotate or resize th' annotation. Keep in mind ye can also make rotation and scale adjustments in th' formattin' menu.

T' Edit

Each type o' annotation can be edited in different ways, savvy? Double tap (iOS/iPadOS) or double-click (macOS) on th' annotation t' open th' correspondin' editor. Ye can also use th' context menu mentioned below.

T' Modify

Ye can perform other tasks on an annotation like pinnin' it so it doesn't scroll, Arrr! This be done by displayin' a context menu o' options. Tap and hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) on th' annotation t' open th' correspondin' context menu.
