Assignin' Actions

Ye can configure a annotations t' perform actions when tapped, double-tapped, or long pressed. (iOS/iPadOS) or click and double-click, and long press (macOS).

This menu be divided into three tabs, one fer each gesture. That means that each annotation could perform three distinct momentary actions. Each o' these tabs features an action picker where ye can choose an action t' perform.

Single Tap or Single Click

Ye can assign an action t' be performed when th' annotation be tapped or clicked. This will override th' default gesture that selects th' note. This means that t' select th' note, ye'll need t' use a two finger tap (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS). Actions be performed immediately when tapped/clicked unless a double tap/click action be assigned. In that case there be a brief delay as th' system will need t' determine if a double tap/click was performed.

Double Tap or Double Click

Ye can assign a different action t' be performed when an annotation be double tapped or double clicked. This will override th' default double-tap or double-click t' edit gesture. In this case, ye'll need t' double tap with two fingers or tap and hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) t' open th' editor or context menu.

Long Press

Ye can assign an action t' be performed when ye tap and hold on th' annotation as if t' open th' context menu on iOS/iPadOS, or when ye click and hold as if ye were preparin' t' drag th' annotation on macOS. Since this will perform an action, th' tap and hold gesture t' open th' context menu will not function on iOS/iPadOS. Ye will need t' double tap with two fingers t' open th' editor.

If ye choose an action, it can interfere with how ye interact with th' annotation. Fer instance, if ye assign a double-tap action, ye will need t' edit th' annotation in another way. Ye can always use two fingers (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) t' access a context menu t' edit th' note.
