OMG, These Boring File Types (We Promise They Work™)

OnSong supports like, a bajillion file formats—basically if you can throw digital music at your screen, we probably gotchu. Click on whatever format is confusing you & we'll explain how OnSong does its magic with it.

Stuff You Can Dump Into OnSong (Archive Files)

These are basically digital containers that hold one or more songs & are perfect for when you're paranoid about losing your entire setlist:

The Good Stuff (Text-Based Files)

OnSong totes vibes with text-based chord charts & lyric sheets—we literally built this thing to understand them natively, amirite.

We'll Fix It (Converted Files)

These formats are text-based but OnSong doesn't natively get 'em—so we'll convert them on import because we're helpful like that.

Uh... We'll Try (Imported Files)

All the other random file types? Yeah, OnSong can import & view them as-is. Our song editor even converts a bunch of these to actual text because apparently you needed that feature.

All the Pretty Things (Media Files)

OnSong has this media library situation where you can attach backgrounds, videos & all that visual pizzazz to your lyrics—or throw backing tracks at your songs because apparently playing an instrument is overrated. Import these bad boys:

The Nerdy Stuff (MIDI Files)

OnSong has MIDI powers that would make your synth weep & can even moonlight as a SysEx librarian (yeah, we know what that means too). These files automatically get filed away in the MIDI Globals library like some kind of digital filing cabinet.

The Lazy Loader (ZIP Files)

OnSong can import ZIP files packed with a bunch of supported formats. Perfect for when you're too lazy to drag & drop multiple files & need to import a whole dump from somewhere else.
