Read The Bleepin’ Manual

Boom Boom Clicky Clicky

The Drum Rack is basically a whole bleepin' drum machine: kits, beats, fills, a tempo, & an editor for buildin' patterns cuz apparently you're bored. The same engine that powers the Drums Pedal is just... out here on the surface instead of hidin' under three tiny knobs like a coward. We're gonna walk across this thing left to right like it's a museum tour you didn't ask for:

The Kit & Beat Stuff

This section lets you pick both a kit & a beat to go performin' with. Fancy.

Kit Knob (It's Literally Just Sounds)

Spin this bad boy to choose a drum kit with specific types of sounds like rock, jazz, or techno. You can also tap it like you're annoyed to choose from a menu instead. Revolutionary.

Beat Knob (More Spinny Fun)

This one picks a pattern that's specific to your kit. Tap it to choose from a menu if your finger's feelin' spicy.

Add (Save Your Weird Stuff)

The add button lets you save whatever custom beat you just made into your library by askin' you for a name. How thoughtful.

Save (Overwrite & Pray)

Already got a pattern? Cool. Save your changes & overwrite the current preset. No backup. YOLO.

Out (The Nerdy Stuff)

This button opens a menu where you can decide if the drum machine outputs its beats as MIDI note events & on what MIDI channels, because apparently you care about that. Also picks a sound bank to create the drum sounds. You're welcome.

Parts (Song Structure? We Got You)

This section lets you specify different beats for different parts of your song. Start the intro with beat A, switch to beat B for the verse, hit 'em with beat C for the chorus. Change 'em whenever & the drum machine saves the config for each part. It's basically magic that took someone three years to code.

Fill (The Spicy Button)

This is where you add fills into the beat as it's playin'. It's quantized to the measure & beats so you don't sound like a total amateur. For instance, tap the 2-measure fill at the fourth beat & the app waits until the next "3" to start the fill. Throw in 1, 2, & 4 beat fills like you know what you're doin'. Options:

  • 1 Beat queues a one-measure fill at the end of the measure.
  • 2 Beat queues a two-measure fill at the end of the measure.
  • Bar queues a full measure fill with duration dependin' on the time signature.
  • Hold lets you customize how long a fill lasts by holdin' the button until the fill should end. Be nice to the drummer! (Or pretend there is one.)

You can also customize fills by tappin' & holdin' on the 1 Beat, 2 Beat, & Bar buttons to open the Custom Fill Menu. Get creative, you animal.

Pattern (Blinky Lights Go BRRR)

This is where you watch the beat happen. The LED buttons light up as the beat plays like a tiny rave. You can also edit the beat by tappin' in this area if you're feelin' bold.

Control (Play/Stop for the Rhythmically Challenged)

Toggle the drum machine on & off & control [beat sync] like a pro. The default is that the drum machine syncs with the master beat clock which runs the metronome, arpeggiator, MIDI clock, & your whole life. Tap the play button to start & tap again to stop. Start a fill then tap stop? The fill completes & crashes on the downbeat like a real drummer who respects the groove.

Tap the menu button to configure literally every aspect of the drum rack. Have fun with that.
