Chord Board

Th' chordboard plays chords without keys, Arrr! Seven big pads laid out in th' key o' th' song, a strip o' modifiers, and a transport—so a guitarist coverin' a keys part, or anyone who doesn't play piano, can hold down real chords with one finger, savvy?

Chord Pads

Each pad be a chord from th' song's key, in order, so th' pads under yer fingers be th' chords th' song be actually made o'. Tap one t' play it; th' pad stays lit while it sounds, matey.

Feel/Bass

T' th' left o' th' chord pads be two buttons that each enable and configure different aspects o' how th' resultin' chord be played, Ahoy!

Feel

This enables feelin' in th' chord by mimickin' different human-like attributes. Tap and hold t' open th' Feel Menu t' adjust this t' yer likin'.

Bass

In addition t' playin' th' chord, enablein' bass will play th' chord with a left hand. This adds bass usin' different techniques. Tap and hold t' adjust these techniques in th' Bass Menu.

Modifiers

Th' strip found below and t' th' left o' th' chords provides modifiers that alter th' chord bein' played. These change th' chord variation t' include suspended and seventh chords. Ye can choose between: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9.

Pattern

Chords could be played all at once when th' pad be pressed, but it would be quite borin', blimey! Ye can change th' pattern t' change how th' chord be voiced in time with th' beat clock.

Once

Plays th' chord as a single hit.

Arp

This option arpeggiates th' chord by playin' its notes in a variety o' ways in time with th' beat clock. Tap and hold t' open th' Arp Menu t' configure that pattern.

Strum

This option plays all th' notes in a rhythm similar t' a guitar. Tap and hold t' open th' Strum Menu t' configure th' strum pattern.

Octave

T' th' right o' th' patterns be a button ye use t' define th' octave in which th' chords be played. By default, it chooses th' 4th octave. Th' value be expressed as a letter and a number with th' letter representin' th' root o' th' key. Ye can tap t' choose from a list includin' octaves 0 through 7.

Transport

T' th' right o' th' chord pads be transport buttons that play chords found in yer song instead o' manually pressin' chord buttons, savvy?

  • Play Chords begins playin' th' chords in th' chart, or in th' selected section.
  • Next Chord advances th' playin' chord t' th' next one in th' song, loopin' t' th' beginnin' o' th' song or section.
  • Clear stops playin' th' current chord.
  • Panic silences everythin' if a note ever gets stuck.

Beat Sync

Th' button on th' right o' th' transport allows ye t' enable beat sync which aligns th' chords t' th' system beat clock. Th' beat clock tempo be set by th' song or other inputs. When enabled by tappin', th' orange light will flash t' indicate beats and th' downbeat. When enabled, ye can tap on a chord pad or advance t' th' next chord, and th' chord will wait t' play on th' next beat or measure. Ye can switch it back off t' play th' chords th' instance ye tap th' buttons.

Tap on th' menu button in th' upper right corner o' th' panel t' open th' menu and configure additional settings for th' chordboard, matey.
