OnSong's sampled instruments — the pianos, organs, strings and brass in the Sampler and the Toneboard, and the kits in the Drum Rack — all come out of SoundFont files (*.sf2). The Soundbanks Editor is where you see which ones are loaded, add your own, and choose which is the default.

Every soundbank that's loaded is listed with its size, how many patches are found inside it, and where it came from:

• Samlet — shipped with the OnSong^® app. The Standard bank is the General MIDI set the sampler uses out of the box, and it can't be removed.
• Egendefinert — a file you've imported.

A checkmark marks the standard soundbank that everything plays through. Trykk on any row to make it the default.

You can delete sound fonts by swiping right to left and tapping on the revealed Slett button. You can also tap and hold on the soundbank to reveal a menu where you can Gi nytt navn or Slett the soundbank. Bundled banks have no swipe action or menu, so the Standard set is always there to fall back on.

Tap on the + button to pick an .sf2 file using the import menu. The file is copied into OnSong's own storage rather than referenced where it sits, so it travels on your device and keeps working if the original is moved or deleted. The list reloads as soon as the import finishes.

Sound Fonts can be large and licensed so they are place in app storage, not library storage. A 150 MB piano sounds wonderful and takes a moment to load the first time you select it. They are importable the way any other content is so you can open one from Files, Mail or another app and choose OnSong.

When this is on, a Program Change message from a connected MIDI controller or a backing track's MIDI channel moves the Sampler's Family and Patch to the instrument that was asked for. Switch it off if you'd rather your chosen sound stay put no matter what the gear around you sends. Default is on.
