AirPlay
AirPlay is baked into literally every Apple thingy across every OS. Basically it lets you yeet your screen—or whatevs you want—onto an AppleTV or some other AirPlay-compatible video receiver that actually cooperated with Apple's rules. In OnSong, you can flex by projecting lyrics or use it as a stage monitor to show chord charts to your bandmates (who probably still won't read 'em).
Fire Up That AppleTV
Using an AppleTV? Cool. Just turn it on. AirPlay does its magic point-to-point without needing WiFi like some needy network. If it is on WiFi tho, make sure your OnSong device is also vibin' on the same network, k thx.
Hookin' an iPad or iPhone to AirPlay
iPad or iPhone? Swipe down from the top right corner (yes, that corner) to unlock the Control Center. Find the screen mirroring button—it's a fancy layered rectangle thingy—to pop open the Screen Mirroring dialog. It'll show you all the AirPlay receivers, including your AppleTV. Tap to connect & pray it works.
Hookin' a Mac to AirPlay
Mac? Tap the switch icon in the top right of your menubar to summon the Control Center. Find the screen mirroring button & click to see a basically identical interface for pickin' your AppleTV or AirPlay receiver. Tap to connect. On Mac you gotta pick a display mode tho. We're thinkin' extended display, or go ahead & specify the lyrics projection or stage monitor window. Ur call.
Ditchin' AirPlay
Wanna bail? iPad or iPhone: swipe down from top right, tap the screen mirroring button again, & choose Stop Mirroring. Mac: tap the switches icon in the top right menubar to show Control Center & click Stop. Chef's kiss.
Lock Down That AppleTV (Cuz Ppl Are Weird)
Public place? Yeah… anyone can jack your AirPlay & see whatevs ur projecting. Set a passcode on your AppleTV or use other "keep randos out" settings, or just accept chaos. Your call.
