Choose Tuning

You can designate an alternate tuning for certain instruments. If you select a supported instrument, you can choose one of the alternate tunings. This will change the strings to be tuned in the Tuner Widget as may also change chord diagrams if supported.

None

The default option for alternate is this which results in the standard tuning being used.

Guitar

There are several tunings supported for guitar including:

• Standard is the standard E-A-D-G-B-E tuning.
• Drop D lowers the low E to a D resulting in D-A-D-G-B-E.
• Drop DD lowers both E strings to D resulting in D-A-D-G-B-D.
• Drop C lowers several strings to C-G-C-F-A-D to play chords in the key C.
• Drop B results in a B-F#-B-E-G#-C# tuning.
• Drop A results in a A-E-A-D-F#-B tuning.
• Open C results in a C-G-C-G-C-E tuning.
• Open D results in a D-A-D-F#-A-D tuning.
• Open G results in a D-G-D-G-B-D tuning.
• Open E results in a E-B-E-G#-B-E tuning.
